CYC COVID-19 Operating Plan
**PLEASE NOTE THAT WE REQUIRE THAT ALL STUDENTS BRING A FILLED OUT DAILY TEMPERATURE AND SYMPTOM FORM TO EACH CLASS (FILL OUT MANDATORY HEALTH FORM HERE)**

July 6 onward

State Guidelines

  • No more than 10 in a group
  • Face masks when social distancing cannot be maintained
  • Cleaning protocols

CYC operating plan

  • A, B, and C group with modifications
  • All sailors must be able to sail independently or with the assistance of a parent/grandparent/sibling or some other family-approved partner in the boat along with student
  • Only family or consenting permanent pairs (“cohorts”) together in boats
  • As much as possible sailors use same equipment each time
  • Staff are not allowed in boats for the health and safety of our community, but will provide classroom and on-the-water instruction and supervision
  • Masks or buffs are mandatory in the classroom and rigging areas
  • Limit the number of passengers aboard power boats when transporting to floats
  • Maintain distance when rigging, gathering gear, chalk talks
  • No communal life jackets, must bring your own
    Cleaning protocols
    • Students and staff encouraged to wash hands prior and after class
    • Hand sanitizer available on site
    • Staff to wipe down classroom surfaces twice a day
    • Cleaning supplies available for boat users to use before and after boat and equipment use

    Clubhouse rules

    • Residents only may enter clubhouse

    • Residents are asked that if they must leave the island, they should continue to follow the guidelines of the Gosnold Board of Public Health

    Class registration guidelines

    • In addition to paying the weekly class fee and signing the waiver, participants will be asked to respond to a short checklist of questions prior to each class, COW to manage checklist

    In case of exposure:

    • We already keep records of all daily participants, and we already collect their contact information when they register

    • If we are notified of a possible exposure, we will notify everyone who participated in our program or came to our facility, within 24 hours via email

    • Anyone who was exposed should follow local public health guidelines regarding evacuation, treatment, and quarantine procedures

    Boat Borrowing:

    • Borrowing of CYC N10s, lasers, and Zests is limited to CYC Members who are current or former students, or parents/spouses of current and former students.
    • 420s and typhoons are only available with special permission from the Staff or Commodore and require a special "check out" procedure.
    • All Members must check in with Staff before and after borrowing a boat.
